First month!
It is not a full month since I arrived at Pierre Trudeau airport in Montréal, yet I feel that the first month has delivered very well indeed, insofar as expectations are concerned. This blog is likely to become my primary one, as I was forced to take the old one from the public domain to protect my interests. Anyone who is interested in my story, backdated to before the arrival in Montréal, can contact me via this blog to have an archived copy; better still, keep an eye on this blog to receive a note when my book finally hits the shelves! The blog in this instance is more of an update on the day to day life as experienced through my eyes. A newcomer to normal life, perhaps I could be likened to a person who has been in prison for some 25 years, albeit with patchy access to information about the outside world. Now I have been released from that prison, I wish to get on with the here and now of life rather than let old bones rise to haunt me.
I wish to summarise the first month in Canada as a permanent resident, but that will have to wait for another entry. Despite being at home, and not currently working full time, there is plenty to be getting on with, and I like to ensure that the house here is maintained well, being more of a grace and favour tenant than a contributor at this stage! The weather has been wonderful, with sunshine sufficient to give me the first real tan of my life, and there have been some wonderful experiences and social contacts about which I wish to write again soon.
Please excuse the brevity of my first entry, and stay with me for further postings- it can only get better!
